Talbot House Children's Charity is hiring an experienced Primary Teacher / Early Years Teacher to work with SEN pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, trauma, attachment, and multiple needs. This role covers Early Years (Key Stage 1 & 2). The school serves pupils from Reception to Key Stage 4, with class sizes rarely exceeding six.
Responsibilities
- Deliver curriculum teaching for Early Years and Key Stages 1 and 2.
- Manage the classroom and maintain high expectations for all pupils to achieve their potential.
- Fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher and meet the expectations set out in the Teachers' Standards.
- Teach and support pupils with complex SEN needs.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with completed ECT induction (NQT). Remaining early career teachers with incomplete inductions are not considered.
- Excellent knowledge of the curriculum, classroom management skills and high expectations for all pupils.
- Experience working with SEN pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, trauma, attachment, and multiple needs.
- Recent or current experience with Key Stage 1 & 2 pupils.
Working Hours
39 hours per week during term time. Typical hours: Monday‑Thursday 8:00‑4:00, Friday 8:00‑3:00. Alternative hours are available: Monday‑Thursday 8:30‑4:30, Friday 8:30‑3:30.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary range equivalent to point M1 up to M6.
- Additional SEN allowance of £2,787.00.
