Talbot House Children’s Charity is recruiting Specialist Support Assistants (SSAs) to work in our non‑maintained specialist school, serving pupils from Reception to Key Stage 4.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist support to pupils with complex SEN, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, trauma and attachment issues.
- Work with small class sizes, rarely more than 6 pupils.
- Support pupils’ educational and welfare needs throughout term time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly with complex needs.
- Knowledge of SEMH, ASD, ADHD, trauma, and attachment support methods.
- Commitment to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Hours and Salary
- Term time only, Monday – Thursday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday, or alternatively Monday – Thursday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Friday (total 39 hours per week, including paid lunch).
- Salary: £26,321.82 per annum, paid 52 weeks, not pro‑rata.
