Contract Length: Initial 6 months with likely extension

We are supporting a leading tier-one contractor involved in the Sizewell C Rail Scheme with the recruitment of a Track Engineer to support works on a major infrastructure package. This role is a fantastic opportunity for experienced professionals with a strong background in track engineering, construction methodologies, and rail renewals or enhancement works.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse track drawings and contribute to construction planning and methodologies
  • Develop RAMS, WPPs and task briefings
  • Support the production of construction programmes, train plans, and staging diagrams
  • Oversee survey equipment logistics and undertake on-site setting out and survey works
  • Produce stress plans and manage technical assurance forms (TEFs)
  • Ensure site compliance with technical and safety standards
  • Participate in safety inspections and lead site briefings on methodology and planning

Required Experience:

  • Strong working knowledge of Network Rail track standards and rail construction practices
  • Hands-on experience with surveying, setting out, tamping, and use of Trimble SPS930 / GPS equipment
  • Experience with construction volume calculations and material planning (ballast, type 1 etc.)
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety at Work Act and CDM regulations
  • Proficient in project planning tools and documentation production

Desirable Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in track engineering
  • PTS certification and Stressing Certificate
  • Experience using Microsoft Project
  • HND, HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Membership of PWI, ICE, or similar institution
  • Candidates must hold a full UK driving license and be comfortable working in a dynamic rail environment.
