We are currently supporting a well-established business operating within the energy sector in their search for an experienced Document Controller. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team focused on maintaining consistency and compliance across the organisation's Integrated Management System (IMS).
Role Overview
The Document Controller will ensure the consistency, validity, and accessibility of documentation across the business — supporting ISO accreditation, audit readiness, and continuous improvement. You will work across departments to manage document control processes, ensure up-to-date compliance, and contribute to the business's quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage company documents — digital and hard copy — to ensure they are accessible, accurate, and properly stored
- Implement and manage document control processes to maintain procedural consistency
- Ensure all documents comply with internal standards and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with internal departments to support document review and approval workflows
- Support the preparation of documentation for audits and inspections
- Deliver training and guidance on document control practices across the business
- Monitor and report on document control performance and compliance
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Document Controller or in a related quality/project support role
- Exposure to ISO standards (preferably ISO 9001, 45001 and/or 14001)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to document accuracy
- Proficient in document management systems — ideally SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a wider QHSE team
- Familiarity with change and stakeholder management processes
Preferred Background
- Degree in Business Administration, Information Management or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a document control or quality role, ideally within oil & gas or energy
- Comfortable hosting internal meetings (in-person and virtual) with a range of stakeholders
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and documentation best practices
