Talanos Cybersecurity is a values led Managed Security Service Provider trusted by organisations to help defend against modern cyber threats. Our core offering is Managed Detection and Response, delivered through our inâhouse Security Operations Centre operating 24/7 across the UK, South Africa and India. Alongside our SOC capability, we support clients with a broader suite of cybersecurity services including Identity & Access Management (IAM), ThirdâParty Risk Management (TPRM), Cloud Security Assessments, Vulnerability Management and Automated Pentesting.
As we continue to grow, we're looking to hire a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our sales team and help accelerate our commercial pipeline.
About the role
This role is ideal for someone who's proactive, energetic, curious and motivated by turning conversations into opportunities. You'll work closely with the sales and marketing teams to identify prospects, qualify outbound leads and book highâquality meetings that convert into revenue.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and engage potential clients through outbound outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn, events). This is a highâactivity role, our SDRs typically make 250+ cold calls per week. If that level of outbound doesn't feel comfortable, this won't be the right fit for you.
- Book, attend and host discovery calls.
- Oversee the sales process from first contact to close.
- Maintain accurate records of all prospect interactions in the CRM.
- Collaborate with marketing on campaigns, messaging and leadâgen initiatives.
- Track and report weekly on activity metrics and pipeline contribution.
- Continuously refine outreach strategies based on data and feedback.
- Represent the company professionally and confidently in all interactions.
What we're looking for
- 4 years experience in an SDR, BDR or similar leadâgeneration role, with at least 2 years experience with the same company (ideally in Cyber, B2B SaaS or B2B tech).
- Strong communication skills â written, verbal and social.
- Comfortable with outbound prospecting and highâvolume activity.
- Ability to quickly understand customer pain points and articulate value.
- Organised, disciplined and able to manage multiple conversations at once.
- Curious, coachable and eager to learn and grow.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) is a plus.
