Job Description
Talan is seeking an experienced
SAP Solution Architect / Lead Consultant to support the delivery and development of strategic SAP engagements across the UK and Ireland.
This is a senior, client-facing role combining solution architecture, functional leadership, delivery oversight and account management.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them define, implement and optimise SAP solutions that support their business and technology objectives.
The role is suitable for an experienced SAP professional with strong expertise in one or more functional areas and the ability to work across complex enterprise environments, transformation programmes and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Client and Account Leadership
- Act as a senior SAP advisor and primary point of contact for key clients.
- Build strong relationships with business, technology and programme stakeholders.
- Manage incoming requirements, assess priorities and coordinate the appropriate delivery resources.
- Maintain oversight of the engagement pipeline, utilisation and future client needs.
- Identify opportunities to extend and strengthen existing client relationships.
- Solution Architecture and Functional Leadership
- Lead solution assessments, requirements gathering and end-to-end SAP solution design.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and practical SAP solutions.
- Provide functional leadership across one or more SAP domains.
- Define solution roadmaps aligned with client strategy, enterprise architecture and SAP best practices.
- Support SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, optimisation and continuous improvement programmes.
- Prepare statements of work, functional specifications and delivery estimates.
- Delivery and Quality Management
- Lead functional workstreams across design, configuration, testing, deployment and post-go-live support.
- Coordinate functional consultants, technical teams, developers and integration specialists.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of project deliverables.
- Manage delivery risks, dependencies and issues.
- Support effective knowledge transfer and long-term client capability development.
- Team and Practice Development
- Manage, mentor and support SAP consultants.
- Contribute to the development of Talan’s SAP capabilities, methodologies and reusable assets.
- Support recruitment, capability building and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Contribute to proposals, client presentations and pre-sales activities where required.
Qualifications

- Significant experience as an SAP Solution Architect / Lead Consultant.
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and enterprise SAP environments.
