The Role
As an
Electronic Trading Application Support Engineer , you will join a global Production Support team responsible for supporting a highly available electronic trading ecosystem across Rates and Credit markets.
You will work closely with traders, quantitative development teams, infrastructure engineers, architects and third-party vendors to ensure the stability, performance and availability of critical trading systems operating across multiple global locations.
The environment consists of Windows and Linux servers supporting pricing platforms, algorithmic trading components, STP workflows, market connectivity solutions and low-latency trading infrastructure.
This role operates within a global follow-the-sun support model, collaborating with teams across London, New York, Montreal, Singapore and Mumbai.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Support & Operations
- Provide day-to-day production support for business-critical electronic trading platforms.
- Monitor platform health, performance, capacity and availability across multiple environments.
- Investigate, manage and resolve production incidents while minimising impact to trading activities and business users.
- Take ownership of incidents from identification through to resolution and post-incident review.
- Participate in on-call support and out-of-hours maintenance activities on a rota basis.
- Platform Engineering & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the design, implementation and optimisation of support and monitoring solutions.
- Drive improvements in platform resiliency, stability, scalability and performance.
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.
- Support platform upgrades, migrations and infrastructure refresh activities.
- Analyse and optimise system performance including CPU, memory, network and application-level metrics.
- Change & Release Management
- Plan, coordinate and execute production releases and system changes.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure smooth deployment of new functionality.
- Coordinate activities with exchanges, ECNs and third-party vendors where required.
- Ensure all changes are documented, tested and implemented in accordance with change management processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with traders, business users, developers, infrastructure teams and external vendors.
- Provide clear communication during incidents and change activities.
- Maintain and improve operational documentation, support procedures and knowledge repositories.
- Share expertise and mentor junior members of the global support team.

- Strong experience supporting business-critical applications within Capital Markets or Electronic Trading environments.
- Excellent Linux and Windows Server administration skills.
- Strong understanding of server, network and infrastructure technologies.
