The Role
As part of the digital team you will lead client engagements working in the Digital business unit at Talan. You will have opportunities to work with many well-known exciting client brands. You will support our clients and stakeholders across different market sectors to design and deliver successful digital change initiatives. As a lead Consultant, you will work with a team of experts to identify opportunities to deliver tangible and measurable benefits for our customers. You will help our clients identify new ways of working that are enabled by technology that make a real difference to the way our customers work.
This exciting opportunity is central to ensuring that Talan can deliver and manage the right solutions to clients and build on recent successes to enhance our digital transformation offering in a fast-changing environment. You will also get to work with a broad range of other functions including change management, cyber security and our offshore digital centre of excellence.
Client and delivery leadership, team collaboration and structured analytical thinking are essential. Some projects require analytical capability and structured innovative problem-solving to generate insight and formulate a technology-led project with the customer at the heart. Other projects will require tenacity and relationship management skills to facilitate diverse groups of stakeholders through challenging digital change journeys. Most need a combination of both. All require the ability to work side-by-side with your colleagues and our clients to create long-lasting value for the organisation.
Through client project work you will actively establish, maintain and strengthen relationships both with clients and within Talan to identify and support business development opportunities working with our sales team. Under the guidance of more senior colleagues you will articulate the value of our services to new and existing clients and contribute to new business development. In line with our commitment to quality, you'll consistently drive projects to completion and ensure work is of high quality. As an influential member of the team, there will be opportunity for international travel, and you will be encouraged to develop a global perspective across emerging and developed markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead client problem-solving sessions to identify and translate the business challenge from requirement definition through to initiative/project ideation.
- Lead complex digital transformation projects, supporting the client through the full life cycle of technology-enabled change.
- Co-lead client-facing customer engagements with support from senior colleagues.
- Provide support to business development initiatives.
- Support best practice implementation and continuous development of technology consulting services across the business unit offerings.
Qualifications Requirements
Successful applicants need to demonstrate:
- Top academics with a degree from a leading institution (desirable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must.
- Strong professional track record shaping digital technology transformation projects.
- Strong analytical capability, and ability to translate business requirements into technology requirements.
- Evidence of client management skills and commercial acumen.
- Intellectual curiosity with evidence of strong problem-solving and structured thinking skills.
- Ability to influence and persuade clients and internal stakeholders to drive decisions.
- Ability to navigate through ambiguity and bring structure into client thinking.
Experience type
- Related experience in consulting, or blue-chip corporate sectors.
- Experience of being part of teams delivering challenging projects.
- 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Understanding/experience of the UK energy market a bonus.
- Understanding data architecture, market and regulatory design processes a bonus.
Upon employment, employees should also have a sound awareness of the Company's Information, Quality, Environmental and Energy Management Systems.
