TALA has been on a rocket ship since its founding in 2019 by entrepreneur Grace Beverley. Built on largely organic social, today we are a digital-first, multichannel women’s activewear brand with a multifaceted growth and retention strategy. Following a £5m fundraise from world-class institutional investors and growing global media attention, TALA is entering an exciting new phase of growth, including the opening of two stores in London. Now, we’re taking TALA beyond London, and Bicester Village, you’re next.

Tasks

  • Commercial Performance
    • Take full ownership of your store's commercial performance, with accountability for sales, payroll, controllable costs and contribution.
    • Trade the store daily and weekly: read the numbers, identify the opportunity, brief the team and act on it.
    • Use conversion, ATV, AOV, UPT, footfall and sell-through data to drive decisions rather than describe outcomes.
    • Build and manage the store rota to maximise the trading day, matching labour to footfall patterns within payroll budget.
    • Set clear individual and team targets, and create a culture where the team understands and cares about the numbers.
    • Identify and upscale commercial risks and opportunities to the Head of Retail, with a proposed solution.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Recruit, onboard and retain a high-performing store team, building a bench of talent rather than filling vacancies reactively.
    • Coach and develop every member of the team through regular one-to-ones, structured feedback and on-the-floor coaching.
    • Manage performance directly and fairly, addressing underperformance early and recognising strong performance visibly.
    • Develop your Supervisors and Store Operations Manager toward the next level, and own succession planning for your store.
    • Lead training on product, service, systems and brand, and make sure new starters are properly set up to succeed.
    • Create a culture of ownership and pride where every colleague understands their role in the commercial and brand outcome.
  • Customer Experience & Brand
    • Champion a best-in-class customer experience, ensuring every interaction reflects TALA's tone of voice, values and community.
    • Set and hold the service standard personally — you should be the best example of it in the building.
    • Handle escalated customer issues, complaints and returns with judgement and care.
    • Use customer feedback, team insight and floor observation to continually improve the in-store journey, and feed that insight back to HQ.
    • Build genuine community in your local market, supporting events, partnerships and activations that bring people into the store.
  • Visual Merchandising & Trading the Floor
    • Deliver visual merchandising standards in line with brand and marketing briefs, executing launches and campaigns to a high standard and to deadline.
    • Trade the floor commercially, adjusting layout and product placement in response to performance while staying true to brand guidelines.
    • Maintain immaculate store standards at all times: presentation, cleanliness, fitting rooms, music, lighting and front of house.
  • Stock & Store Operations
    • Hold overall accountability for stock in your store, including stock accuracy, shrinkage and stocktake results.
    • Partner with your Store Operations Manager on delivery flow, processing, pricing accuracy, replenishment and backroom standards - they own the execution, you own the outcome.
    • Work with Merchandising and Logistics on intake, consolidation, transfers and range feedback for your store.
    • Ensure cash handling, banking, POS and daily operational routines are completed accurately and securely.
    • Implement and embed the TALA Retail Playbook consistently, and feed back where it can be improved.
  • Communication & Cross-Functional Partnership
    • Act as the link between your store and HQ, ensuring clear, timely communication in both directions.
    • Work with HQ teams including Merchandising, Operations and Logistics, Finance, People and Marketing on weekly and monthly reporting packs, trade feedback and store input.
    • Represent your team in cross-functional conversations, bringing commercial insight, customer feedback and operational reality to the table.
    • Deliver accurate, on-time reporting and respond to HQ requests within agreed timeframes.
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by implementing and maintaining store safety protocols, conducting regular audits and training the team to uphold a safe environment for both employees and customers.
    • Ensure the store meets all landlord, centre and legal operating requirements.
    • Embed loss prevention and security procedures across the team.

  • Excellent multitasking skills, balancing customer service, sales, and store operations seamlessly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking) to ensure clear and engaging customer interactions.
  • Passionate about building customer relationships, from discussing upcoming collections to gathering customer insights that foster long-term loyalty.

Benefits

  • 28 days holiday a year inclusive of bank holidays.
  • You’ll be automatically enrolled in our company pension scheme with Aviva.
  • Employee discount after probation period.
