MiQ is seeking a permanent Senior Workday Integration Architect to join our ERP team as the expert for our enterprise platform ecosystem. This critical full-time position is designed for an expert who specialises in Workday Financials (FINS) and possesses a strong working knowledge of Workday HCM/HR system architecture. In this role, you will own the long-term roadmap, stabilisation, and modernisation of our core integration networks. You will lead the shift from legacy, file-based processing to high-performance API-driven designs to resolve timeout constraints across critical billing, project, and contract streams. As a permanent member of the architecture team, you will establish rigorous regression-testing methodologies to ensure that continuous global HR data adjustments and localised worker profile modifications seamlessly align with underlying corporate financial accounting schemas and general ledger integrity.

Core Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Financial Technical Ownership: Serve as the definitive in-house subject matter expert for the design, configuration, and stability of large-scale Workday integrations tied to FINS modules (Billing, Project/Campaign role assignments, Salesforce and external contract management interfaces).
  • Architecture Modernization: Lead the technical conversion of critical file-based integrations into modern, API-driven web services to remediate systemic processing timeouts and accommodate growing transactional data volumes.
  • Cross-Functional Data Governance: Partner continuously with HR Operations, IT, and Finance stakeholders to map, govern, and audit multi-directional data streams, ensuring HR organisational changes (Supervisory Orgs, Cost Centers, Pay Groups) update financial structures without payload errors.
  • End-to-End Code Engineering: Research, design, build, test, and deploy production-grade integrations using Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs), and Document Transformations, backed by advanced Calculated Fields and Custom Reports.
  • Security & Encryption Compliance: Manage the native lifecycle of PGP/SSH key configurations, secure transport parameters, and technical specification field maps across international boundaries.
  • Root Cause Remediation: Own structural forensic analysis on integration failures — including during critical billing cycles — and implement permanent code fixes to strengthen the compliance and control framework.
  • Stakeholder & BAU Ownership: Liaise with key stakeholders on BAU requests and Workday help tickets, manage integration-related help tickets, and own the Workday integration architecture end to end.

Prerequisites & Experience

  • Workday Studio Mastery: 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience developing, multi-threading, and debugging complex integration loops within the Workday Studio framework.
  • BIRT Document Development: Build and maintain customer-facing document layouts (invoices, credit notes, statements, email templates), including multi-entity, multi-currency, and country-compliance variants (e.g. HSN worktag presentation on Indian customer invoices). Own MiQ's Workday document (BIRT), connector, and BAU integration estate — building in-house capability while planning a move away from legacy builds to future-proof the system.
  • Report Writing: Advanced and composite report writing and calculated-field design underpinning document layouts and integrations.
  • Connector & EIB Development: Build, maintain, and fix Core Connector, EIB, and Document Transformation (XSLT) integrations, including card programme feeds (AMEX, MESH) and third-party data feeds (e.g. Dun & Bradstreet).
  • Integration Stack Proficiency: 5+ years of comprehensive experience with Web Services, XML, XSLT, SOAP, and Java.
  • E-Invoicing & New Feeds: Configure and support Pagero e-invoicing connectivity and new integrations as scoped (e.g. Pave HCM benchmarking feed, payroll platform feeds).
  • Capability Building: Document standards and runbooks; mentor internal data analysts on Workday report writing and BIRT fundamentals.
  • Workday Finance Focus (Mandatory): Extensive background building, deploying, and supporting integrations directly surrounding Workday Finance applications — billing systems, project/campaign accounts, or ledger distributions.
  • Workday HR System Familiarity: Practical experience navigating Workday HCM landscapes (Core HR fields, worker profiles, position management) to anticipate how upstream employee management events impact financial integration data layers.
  • Transition Experience: Experience taking over an estate from an external partner or consultancy.
