Are you an experienced plant or heavy equipment engineer looking for a challenging and rewarding role with a global leader in compact construction equipment? We have an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and technically skilled Mobile/Workshop Service Engineer. Based at our UK head office, you will join our established service team, supporting our dealer network and customers throughout the UK & Ireland. The Takeuchi Service Centre is equipped with the latest test equipment, to support our complete range of excavators, tracked loaders, hydraulic breakers and tracked carriers. Takeuchi have an employee focused approach. We are a ‘learning company’ and invest in the development of our Service Engineers to continually improve our product support. We will help, train, guide and inspire you to achieve your full potential. Currently, our Service training programs are held in Europe. A valid UK passport and flexibility to travel internationally is part of the role.
About the role
This is a dynamic role and whilst doing whatever you can to contribute to the success of the service department, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Comply with Health & Safety, Company policy and Site-specific policies and procedures
- Utilise diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and fault find
- Carry out any repairs as necessary whilst adhering to correct procedures set out by Manufacturers
- PDI and prepare machines for direct sale – Modify, add additional equipment
- Visit customers sites within the UK & Ireland to follow up on service and warranty issues
- Support our dealer network, answering service calls and giving technical advice
- Ensure all service reports and documentation is filled out correctly
- Respond to customers with a focused customer satisfaction approach to resolve issues
About you
You must be pro-active, honest and reliable with a strong "Can Do" attitude, who can thrive on solving technical challenges and take pride in delivering exceptional service.
- A positive team player who can also demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative
- A full UK driving licence with a good driving record
- A valid UK passport
- Customer service focussed; polite and have good communication skills
- Flexibility for occasional overnight stays (fully funded)
- Provide relevant qualifications such as NVQ, City&Guilds or similar
- Previous experience in a similar role
Desired Skills
- IT skills and competent using Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of diagnostic systems: E-IDSS, SA-Direct, Serdia, K-ISS
- Experienced with emission control systems: DPF, DEF, SCR
- Knowledge of both hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Certified courses such as manual handling, abrasive wheels etc
