The Challenge
- Work closely with managers and team members in all areas of Financial Accounting to prepare actuals, budget and forecast, including presentation of monthly management accounts and analysis in order to help the Executive Management team guide business decisions.
- The Financial Accountant will perform processes to prepare the Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet for various entities to strict timelines.
What You’ll Take On
- Stock
- Controlling the stock across GB and Export
- Consistently maintaining system cost splits and reviewing integrity reports to ensure system accuracy
- Attending annual physical stock takes in the 3rd party warehouse
- Annual calculation and review of stock obsolescence, liaising with the sales director and finance management
- Building and maintaining close relationships with operations, IT and Logistics, in order to carry out the above
- Manufacturing accounting for the UK master distributor, including component inventory, manufacturing reconciliations, rebate calculations and Transfer Price Set up for the international business
- Monthly reconciliations and reporting within prescribed deadlines
- Intercompany
- Assisting management with intercompany function
- Ensure that recharge invoices are raised on a timely manner
- Preparation of intercompany net-off proposals for approval
- Consistently maintaining up to date intercompany reconciliations for review
- Prepare and review all manual, recurring, and inter-company journal entries to ensure that accruals, prepayments depreciation, allocations, and transfer of costs are correct in accordance with GAAP and properly supported
- Liaise with intercompany counterparts globally
- Internal/External Reporting (for All entities)
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP and internal deadlines
- Control timely preparation of the month end reporting packs, including supporting consolidation schedules; Provide management information; including segmental P&L and balance sheet variance analysis
- Adhoc
- Contribute in the audit process at quarter and year end
- Ensuring GL JDE integrity for all entities. Ensure compliance with Company SOX controls requirements.
- Covering members of the team when on leave
- Financial Systems
- Evaluate operational and financial risks for group companies and establish mitigating controls; Drive necessary changes in systems for reporting needs; and Flag system issues early and follow through to resolution.
What You Bring
- Part/Fully qualified Accountant; and Good ERP systems and BI systems knowledge
- Strong Microsoft Office knowledge
- Ability to deliver accurately and within tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and good communicator
- Technically competent in US and UK GAAP reporting
- Commercially aware with an appreciation of key business risks
