Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker
Female Personal Care Assistant required to assist Lisa, a young woman with Cerebral Palsy, Learning Disabilities, and Startle Seizures, living in the Motherwell area.
You will provide one-to-one care and assistance within her home and in the community, attending to personal care and participation in social activities.
Responsibilities
- Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements)
- Assisting with medication
- Preparing meals and healthy snacks
- Assisting with participation in physical activities such as pottery, Zumba, gym, bowling, cinema, and hair & nails services
- Transfer assistance – helping with moving off a power wheelchair, onto/off toilet/shower chair and bed
- Shopping and collecting prescriptions
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Qualifications & Skills
- Proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual involvement in suitable activities
- Warm and friendly nature; desire to work within a caring role
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Driver with a full UK manual driving licence (required for driving a manual mobility vehicle)
- Relevant experience desirable but not essential – training will be provided
Hours & Pay
Guaranteed permanent: 30 hours each month.
Hours include:
- 1 sleepover per month (24‑hour shift, sleeping night shift)
- 1 afternoon/evening weekend shift per month (approximately 6 hours per shift)
Schedules: Friday 12pm to Saturday 12pm or Saturday 12pm to Sunday 12pm. Additional hours available and can be discussed at interview.
Pay: £12.60 per hour.
