Overview
A kind elderly lady, who likes getting out and about, requires a female Personal Assistant. She has a physical disability and lives Abronhill, in the Cumbernauld area.
Responsibilities
- Provide weekday or weekend cover for routine visits such as morning, lunch, dinner and bedtime working in a small team of other personal assistants and the woman’s family to support her health, wellbeing and quality of life.
- Assist with one-to-one care at home and social visits in the community, visiting garden centres, shopping centres, parks, out for lunch or coffee and day trips to visit friends.
- Support with personal care needs – showering, toileting and bowel movements if required.
- Prompt medication taking.
- Move and handle required and push a manual wheelchair.
- Prepare meals and healthy snacks.
- Perform general housework – laundry, cleaning and de-cluttering.
- Transport to cafes, shops and medical appointments.
- Carry out any other daily living tasks to promote independent living.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Committed, reliable and caring person who is friendly, honest and flexible.
- Physically fit for moving and handling duties.
- Driver with a full UK driving licence – use own vehicle, mileage paid.
- Experience desirable but not essential – training provided.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Hours & Payment
Zero hour contract of approximately 5 hours per week.
Split shifts on weekends: 9:00am – 12:00pm & 8:00pm – 10:00pm.
Routine visits: 1 or 2 hours dependent on client needs.
£15.00 per hour.
