Responsibilities:
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Order supplies and equipment
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Clean kitchen and work areas
- Manage kitchen operations
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years experience as a cook
- Knowledge of South Indian and East Indian cuisine specialties
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical capability to handle heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and work under pressure
- Valid Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or work permit (do not apply if not authorized to work in Canada)
