Welcome to Heretaunga, the area renowned for its rich and fertile landscape that is sustained by its life‑giving dews and waterways. Council’s Risk team works to drive excellent emergency management practices within the Council as well as working alongside emergency services and key response agencies.
We are looking for an Emergency Management Coordinator with a passion for emergency management to join our team and support our efforts in preparing communities and Council to handle future emergencies. Known for their interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment, the successful candidate will be able to empower communities to be prepared and contribute to Council plans.

- An understanding of emergency management and community resilience.
- An aptitude for solving problems and collaborating in a team environment.
- Practical experience with either community planning and/or running public workshops.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
