The Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate movement of goods into and out of the facility, as well as inventory. This role involves supervising a team, maintaining goods accuracy, maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role exists to support shipping, receiving and inventory management activities, as well as oversee general dock work and area cleanliness. Please note this role will be in our Wakefield office, 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team responsible for goods receiving, shipping, and inventory movement, providing training, guidance, prioritization, and ongoing support to drive high performance and engagement.
- Evaluate employee performance, deliver constructive feedback, coach team members, and support career development opportunities.
- Oversee daily inbound and outbound operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all shipments.
- Support shop floor needs by driving effective operational solutions.
- Ensure all inventory is stored safely and efficiently.
- Contribute to process development and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and implement best practices to maintain accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels within material handling operations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular safety training, maintain required reporting, and promote a safe, organized, and clean warehouse environment.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and support teams to align material handling activities with overall business objectives.
- Verify shipment documentation and generate bills of lading.
- Track and update shipment status and report stock shortages.
- Create non-conformance reports and analyze shipping, receiving, and operational performance metrics to support decision-making.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of material handling equipment.
- Ensure team members are trained on safe equipment operation and operate equipment as needed.
Requirements
- Significant experience in material handling, logistics, or warehouse operations with at least 1+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse management software.
- Knowledge of Epicor, Slack, and/or Box.
- Excellent leadership and team building abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse environments.
- Ability to travel, as needed.
- Flexibility with work schedule. Normal work schedule is 40 hours per week; however operational demands may necessitate other schedules to meet business needs.
