Position Purpose

Project Managers (PMs) lead the planning, development, execution, monitoring, and delivery of projects from start to finish. They are responsible for managing the full project scope, budget, resources, and team to ensure successful project outcomes. Our Project Managers focus on delivering results aligned with our core philosophy: "Happy Client, Happy Team, At a Profit." In this role, PMs typically spend approximately 85% of their time managing active projects or supporting project bids, 10% contributing to organisational and departmental improvements, and 5% on continuing professional development. To support successful project delivery and collaboration with clients and teams, travel may be required for up to 30% of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight
    • Support project teams in planning and delivery, grounded in the TAIT Project Process
    • Lead or coach development of project budgets, budget monitoring, tracking, and reporting
    • Lead or coach project team check-ins, including critical evaluation of scope, schedule, and budget progress
    • Guide project teams to leverage subject matter experts, Technical Leads, and Functional leaders
    • Facilitate project team collaboration to overcome challenges while maintaining appropriate quality levels
    • Coordinate project team resources and resolve priorities in conjunction with Functional leaders
    • Ensure Local and Global leaders are aware of high risk or complexity project progress
  • Active Project Management
    • Perform the duties as described in the Project Manager job description
    • Lead project planning and delivery, grounded in the TAIT Project Process
    • Be accountable for the project team, scope, schedule, and budget
  • Bidding and Development
    • Represent Project Management on all assigned Bids
    • Ensure accuracy and quality of Bids, based on Market best practices
    • Participate in Design Development to ensure ownership of scope, schedule, and budget
  • Business Development and Account Management
    • Assume commercial accountability for projects and relationships, especially within specialized Markets
    • Maintain and develop customer relationships, in collaboration with Business Development
    • Act as Account Manager for customers that hold long standing relationships with TAIT
    • Ensure customer communication is coordinated with Business Development and Market Leaders
    • Maintain CRM data
  • Department Leadership
    • Maintain department culture and standards
    • Promote best practices, innovations, successes, and lessons learned
    • Lead or participate in Lessons Learned sessions for active or completed projects
    • Drive or participate in departmental improvement and initiatives
    • Contribute and maintain training and reference materials
    • Ensure commitment to TAIT Project Process and all Department Activities
    • Regularly monitor and cascade department and organization communication
  • Organizational Leadership
    • Attend Organizational meetings and training
    • Exhibit and promote behavior that reflects TAIT's Leadership and Inclusive Culture framework
    • Collaborate with Project leadership and teams in all TAIT locations
    • Engage cross-functionally to promote teamwork and ensure optimized processes
  • Management Responsibility
    • Encourage an inclusive culture that embraces TAIT Traits and Standards of Care.
    • Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the organization, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
    • Foster team members by guiding Projects and supporting individualized growth and development plans.
    • Seek opportunities to provide PM and APM with new experiences, including participation in Projects with other SPM.
    • Assess and evaluate employee performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching support career advancement opportunities.
    • Organize and manage workflows to ensure employees understand their duties and tasks.
    • Actively engage in process development and optimization to enhance efficiency and quality.
    • Maintain collaborative relationships with Functional Leaders.
    • Attend and/or organize regular check-in meetings.
    • Regular team and 1-on-1 meetings to provide focused support and development.
    • Timesheet approval.
    • Time-off approval and tracking.
    • Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company.

    Position Requirements

    • Degree: Engineering, Technical Theatre or Live Event related field
    • Experience in Entertainment or Construction industry.
