Position Purpose
The CNC Turn Machinist plays a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, responsible for producing high‑precision turned components using CNC lathes. This role requires the setup and operation of CNC turning machinery to meet tight tolerances and engineering specifications. The machinist is accountable for ensuring part accuracy, maintaining efficiency, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts across the production floor. Success in this position means delivering high‑quality parts on time, maintaining a safe and organized workspace, and collaborating effectively with engineering and quality teams to support broader production goals.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC turning machines (lathes) to manufacture precision components to technical drawings and specifications.
- Perform in‑process quality inspections using tools such as micrometres, callipers, and bore gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Load raw materials, select appropriate tooling and offsets, and ensure correct machine programming.
- Monitor and adjust machining processes to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot minor machining and tooling issues during production.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with company standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to resolve production issues.
- Interpret technical drawings, CAD data, and process documentation accurately.
- Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines.
- Follow all company health, safety, and quality procedures.
Position Requirements
- Experience with multi‑axis CNC turning centers.
- Familiarity with CNC programming (Fanuc, Siemens, etc.).
- Knowledge of manual lathe operation and other conventional machinery.
- Night shift availability.
