Position Purpose: The role involves preparing and spraying a variety of metal products, following specifications for paint selection based on customer requirements. The painter will operate spray equipment or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal products. Additionally, the painter will paint and primer components using specified primer and paint colors.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare units by sanding and degreasing as required.
- Mix paint and other solutions and monitor drying to ensure the desired result is achieved.
- Fill out appropriate progress reports as required.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures.
- May paint items by hand when necessary.
- Exhibit conscientious workmanship.
- Adhere to health and safety policies.
Position Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK.
- Forklift licence (desirable).
- Previous experience using an overhead crane (desirable).
- Time-served apprenticeship (desirable).
- Possess an NVQ or CSCS certification (desirable).
- Experience with stainless steel / aluminium would be advantageous (desirable).
- Previous experience using Epicor would be advantageous (desirable).
- Good all‑around general education.
- Good numeracy and mechanical skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of industrial paint techniques and how to prepare units for paint.
- Experience using industrial paint equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of numerical and mathematical calculations and data.
- Effective time and project management skills.
