Position Purpose: The Production Technician 2 is responsible for assembling and wiring control systems and lifting equipment, specifically controllers and hoists, using technical diagrams to convert components into functional, tested products. This role is an individual contributor position that emphasizes precise execution and dependable output, with an added responsibility of mentoring and training new employees. By delivering reliable equipment on time, you enable production teams and end users to "Create Moments that Move People," ensuring seamless installations, effective lifting operations, and smooth customer experiences. Operating at a tactical and operational level within a local or regional manufacturing site, the role carries responsibility for final assembly accuracy, workflow contribution, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role is also responsible for carrying out repairs, servicing and recalibration on any returned products.
Responsibilities: As a seasoned Production Technician 2, you take the lead in assembling controllers, hoists, wiring harnesses, and sub-assemblies from technical diagrams and engineering specifications, applying advanced wiring techniques and quality checks. You conduct functional testing, inspection, and calibration to guarantee each product meets stringent safety and performance standards. In addition to your core responsibilities, you mentor and train new technicians, helping them master best practices for consistent quality and operational efficiency. You uphold a clean, well-organized, and hazard-free workshop, adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, and proactively report risks. Continuously, you identify inefficiencies or defects, recommend process improvements, and partner with internal teams including Production Management, Quality Assurance, Testing, Stores, and Continuous Improvement to ensure reliable output, streamlined production, and on-time delivery.
Qualifications and Experience: While formal qualifications are not mandatory, candidates with a background in mechanical or electrical engineering, or related fields, are encouraged to apply. Practical experience in assembling and wiring control systems and lifting equipment is advantageous. Familiarity with interpreting technical diagrams and adherence to safety protocols is beneficial.
