The CNC Mill Machinist is a vital member of our manufacturing team, responsible for producing precision components using CNC machine tools. This role requires the operation and setup of various milling machines to manufacture parts of different sizes and volumes, utilizing jigs and fixtures to ensure accuracy. The machinist plays a key part in maintaining production efficiency, quality, and safety standards while collaborating across departments to solve problems and continuously improve processes.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform quality checks using precision measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges) to ensure finished products meet tolerances.
- Load raw materials and select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine programs.
- Optimize machining processes to reduce cycle times and improve part quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication, and basic maintenance to ensure reliability.
- Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and work instructions accurately.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and other team members to resolve production issues.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and quality regulations within the workshop.
Position Requirements:
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
- Familiarity with manual machining, such as lathe, press brake, or surface grinding.
- Knowledge of CNC programming (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain).
- Experience working in aerospace, automotive, or high-precision industries.
- Availability to work a rotating shift schedule including mornings and evenings.
