We are now seeking a proactive, detail-driven Buyer to support our fast-paced, project-based operations.
About the Role
The Buyer plays a critical role in sourcing and purchasing parts and inventory items to support multiple concurrent projects. This role also manages intercompany orders and works closely with Finance and Accounting to ensure procurement accuracy and budget alignment.
The ideal candidate thrives in a high-energy, deadline-driven environment and brings strong ERP system experience and procurement discipline.
What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase parts and inventory items to support multiple simultaneous projects, ensuring cost control and on-time delivery
- Manage intercompany (interco) orders and coordinate with global teams for compliance and accuracy
- Partner closely with Finance and Accounting on coding, reconciliation, and budget alignment
- Create and manage purchase orders within ERP systems
- Track deliveries and maintain accurate procurement records
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and supply chain teams on material requirements and specifications
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively place orders to prevent shortages and delays
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships focused on quality and responsiveness
- Expedite orders and resolve pricing, delivery, and quality issues
- Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Support continuous improvement and cross-functional initiatives
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred (not required)
- Experience in purchasing/procurement – ideally in manufacturing or project-based environments
- Experience managing intercompany orders and working with Finance/Accounting partners
- Strong ERP system proficiency (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
