We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive NOC IT Specialist to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. This role involves monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical IT systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and uptime. The position requires shift-based availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to provide 24/7 operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- System and Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor IT infrastructure, applications, and networks using NOC tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix). Identify, analyze, and elevate alerts or incidents to appropriate teams or stakeholders. Maintain logs and incident records for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Incident Management: Respond to and resolve technical incidents, escalating when necessary. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of issues. Provide root cause analysis for recurring issues and recommend preventive measures.
- Performance Optimization: Track and report on system and network performance metrics. Suggest and implement improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency. Assist with capacity planning and forecasting for IT infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Perform basic troubleshooting of servers, networks, and applications. Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to address and resolve issues. Conduct routine system checks and maintenance tasks to prevent downtime.
- Shift-Based Operations: Provide 24/7 coverage on a rotating shift schedule. Maintain effective handovers between shifts to ensure continuity of service. Stay available for on-call support as needed.
- Documentation and Communication: Update operational procedures, knowledge bases, and incident reports. Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management regarding ongoing issues and resolutions. Prepare daily and weekly operational reports.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or network operations.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, New Relic).
- Basic troubleshooting skills for servers, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and applications.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
