We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer (Infrastructure) to help strengthen and mature infrastructure security capabilities across cloud and on-prem environments. This is a technical role focused on improving visibility, resilience and security maturity across the organisation.
The successful candidate will work closely with INO (Infrastructure & Network Operations), Corporate IT and Platform Engineering teams to strengthen network and platform security, implement scalable controls and support modern security practices across high-availability environments. The role requires a technical understanding across networking, cloud, edge security, infrastructure hardening and operational security tooling. The successful candidate will remain close to engineering and operations whilst helping improve security standards, visibility and incident response capabilities across distributed environments.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, implement and improve security controls across on-premise, cloud and edge environments.
- Support security architecture and hardening initiatives across servers, operating systems, cloud platforms, Kubernetes and infrastructure services.
- Support implementation, tuning and operational maturity of SIEM, alerting and security monitoring platforms.
- Support Layer 7 and web security initiatives including WAF, reverse proxy, API protection and edge security controls.
- Support implementation and operational management of edge security platforms such as Cloudflare or similar technologies.
- Support vulnerability management, remediation and infrastructure and networking security assessments across cloud and on-premise systems.
- Lead and support the implementation, tuning and operational maturity of endpoint security, EDR and Microsoft Defender capabilities across infrastructure, corporate and production environments.
- Support identity, access management and privileged access security initiatives across infrastructure environments.
- Continuously evaluate emerging infrastructure threats, attack vectors and security tooling to strengthen the organisation’s security posture.
- Work closely with ISO and compliance teams to ensure infrastructure security controls align with regulatory and governance requirements.
Main Requirements
- 5+ years experience in a dedicated or heavily security-focused engineering role.
- Strong background in infrastructure, cloud or network security engineering within high-availability environments.
- Strong understanding of Layer 3, Layer 4 and Layer 7 security principles across modern network and infrastructure environments.
- Experience securing cloud, hybrid and on-premise infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of networking, routing, switching, firewalling and network segmentation principles.
- Experience with edge and web security platforms such as Cloudflare, Akamai or similar technologies.
- Experience implementing and managing SIEM, logging, monitoring and security detection platforms.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure hardening, IAM, privileged access management and secrets management.
- Experience securing Kubernetes, containerised workloads and cloud-native infrastructure environments.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, automation tooling and modern platform engineering practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience operating within regulated or compliance-driven industries is advantageous.
