I tend to walk Odin and Shadows separately. They both react to other dogs and I don’t trust my back as they both pull when they see another dog. They also tend to race each other on the lead, so I’m constantly stopping them to calm. I take both dogs out for an hour each. Odin has no recall at all, and nothing motivates him to come back to you! Shadows' recall is good and she enjoys fetch with a ball, but is unpredictable if a dog comes, although I haven’t had a problem yet with her running off. I am very cautious and lead her before she can have contact with a dog. I wouldn’t recommend off-lead time unless it is in a secure private area.

I’m at work Monday to Friday and struggling to find time to give them their much-needed exercise. Would love for someone who is confident with big dogs to give them both an hour walk each twice a week, preferably on Tuesday & Thursdays, around 10:30. If the weather is too warm I do not want them walked unless it can be very early in the mornings. They already struggle in the heat. They are loving dogs, enjoy cuddles and kisses and playtime. They are wary of new people, so you will need to be confident and get to know them then they will give you so much love and fun.

Responsibilities:
  • Walk Odin for one hour and Shadows for one hour, twice a week, preferably Tuesday and Thursday around 10:30.
  • Keep both dogs from pulling and racing other dogs by managing introductions and keeping them calm on the lead.
  • Assess recall and safety; avoid off-lead time unless it is in a secure private area and Odin’s recall is reliable.
  • Provide loving, attentive care and ensure they receive the exercise they need.
Qualifications:
  • Confident with big dogs and able to manage dogs with strong pulling tendencies.
  • Experience with dogs that may have unpredictable recall around other dogs.
  • Ability to work with dogs that are wary of new people and to build trust over time.
Schedule:
  • Preferred days: Tuesday and Thursday, around 10:30. Weekend or additional times can be discussed as needed.
  • If weather is too warm, walks should be scheduled for very early mornings to avoid heat.
