Overview: Tails.com has built an entirely new category in pet food and is rapidly scaling with backing from Purina, one of the world's largest pet food companies. As a Project Delivery Manager, you will transform approved innovation ideas into practical, executable plans and drive crossâfunctional delivery through launch.
Role Focus: After a concept and business case are approved, this role focuses on converting innovation ideas into actionable plans and leads the delivery team to launch. The Project Delivery Manager translates approved concepts into executable plans and drives crossâfunctional delivery, ensuring that initiatives are delivered efficiently, on time, within budget, and to required quality and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution â develop detailed delivery plans, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Ensure all deliverables are met across packaging, formulation, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, operational improvements, promotional activities, and launch readiness.
- Identify project risks and create mitigation plans.
- CrossâFunctional Coordination â link Innovation with Marketing, Commercial, Digital, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations teams; facilitate communication and team alignment across all phases.
- Organise project meetings, reviews, and update sessions; drive timely decision making and escalation when needed.
- Work closely with the range innovation manager and supplier contacts to meet agreed timescales and KPIs.
- Product Launch Management â oversee launch cycles from concept approval to market rollout, coordinate operational readiness, packaging artwork, supplier onboarding, product trials, regulatory compliance, production planning, and goâtoâmarket plans.
- Project and Performance Tracking â monitor milestones and KPIs, provide regular updates to leadership, complete documentation and postâimplementation reviews.
- Use project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Asana, or SAPâbased tools) to manage budgets, track critical path activities, and address delays.
- Governance, Reporting & Gate Management â manage NPD stageâgate deliverables, provide progress updates, risks and mitigation plans, and ensure change control and approvals.
- Continuous Improvement â support improvement initiatives, drive standardisation, lead postâlaunch reviews and refine NPD delivery processes.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Food Science, or related discipline.
- 3â7 years' experience delivering NPD or change projects in FMCG or consumer goods.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Strong project management and crossâfunctional delivery experience.
- Solid understanding of FMCG operations â manufacturing, supply chain, and packaging.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, risk management, planning, and problemâsolving skills.
- Experience within structured NPD stageâgate frameworks.
- Ability to work in highâpressure, fastâpaced environments with tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with project software tools and detailâoriented, organised.
- Ability to lead without formal authority; adaptable, proactive, solutionsâfocused.
- Strong commercial awareness.
