Do you have skills and experience to secure our next year's funding in this challenging economic climate? We make a difference in the lives of bereaved children by finding creative ways to preserve memories. What difference will you make? This will have a huge impact as we've been very successful in applying for small local grants but nothing to cover our core costs. Most national foundations are currently oversubscribed making it a very competitive area to succeed in. This is why we feel strongly that we need someone with the right experience and skills in this area to help us provide financial security.

What are we looking for? I'm looking for someone to help me with a few of the following areas and would be grateful for a volunteer who possessed a few of the following skills:

  • Bid writing for grant applications
  • Fundraising activities

You don't need to have skills in all of the above but if you are at all interested please contact me with details of what assistance you can offer.

What will you be doing? I need someone who is good with words to work alongside myself to find an appropriate income generating strategy for this business to grow and become sustainable having a much larger impact on bereaved families. This may involve spending time on various tasks as required but can focus on your strengths and areas of expertise. Bid writing for grant funding will be key to improving the financial security for Tailored Yarn Memories which is important for raising awareness of our mission to bring comfort and healing while preserving memories for grieving children through stories and paintings.

Following a successful year with a TEDx talk and being nominated for a national entrepreneur competition I'm hoping to build on this firm foundation but am seeking individuals with the right expertise to help guide the business in the right direction. It's essential to form a business strategy to help generate a sustainable income so that we can develop the charitable side of the story tailoring business. In addition to bid writing for grant funding, other income generating ideas include school workshops, Etsy creative shop and finding illustration work.
