A leading specialist within industrial refrigeration solutions is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Systems Design Engineer to support the delivery of large-scale projects across the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Systems Design Engineer to work across high-value refrigeration projects exceeding £1M, delivering bespoke and energy efficient solutions for complex industrial applications. The role offers a high level of autonomy, remote working flexibility, and the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a growing and highly respected business.
The Role
- Full design and technical engineering of industrial refrigeration systems for large-scale projects
- Producing detailed refrigeration calculations, equipment selections, and system specifications
- Designing efficient and compliant refrigeration solutions tailored to client requirements
- Working closely with project managers, clients, and internal engineering teams throughout project lifecycle
- Ensuring all designs comply with industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety requirements
- Supporting the development of sustainable and energy-efficient system solutions
- Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to source suitable equipment and components
- Assisting with technical documentation, design reviews, and project support activities
Background Required
- Proven experience in refrigeration system design within industrial refrigeration environments
- Strong understanding of refrigeration principles, thermodynamics, and system calculations
- Experience working within food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or process cooling sectors
- Ability to design complex refrigeration systems for large-scale/high-value projects
- Proficiency with refrigeration design software and engineering calculations
