We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle delivery of complex industrial refrigeration and cooling engineering projects valued from £500K to £5M+.

Working for a large, established engineering business, you will manage technically challenging and bespoke projects incorporating compressors, process pipework, heat exchangers, pumps, heating & cooling systems and associated process equipment.

You will take projects from initial handover and engineering through to procurement, manufacture, site installation, commissioning and final customer acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full project ownership from scope through design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
  • Manage projects across food & beverage, pharmaceutical, power generation and process industries.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, subcontractors and site activities.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, forecasts, risks and key deliverables.
  • Drive commercial performance, including cost control, variations, change management and protection of project margin.
  • Act as a key customer interface, managing expectations and resolving technical and commercial issues.
  • Review and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, GAs, specifications and mechanical/process engineering documentation.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required technical and quality standards.

About You

  • Mechanical, Chemical, Process or Building Services Engineering qualification, or equivalent technical background.
  • Proven experience managing industrial engineering projects in the £500K–£5M+ range.
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical/process plant and equipment.
  • Commercially astute with experience of budgets, forecasting, variations and contract management.
  • Confident managing customers, contractors, suppliers and engineering teams.
  • Experience within process engineering, industrial contracting, EPC, packaged equipment or turnkey engineering would be particularly relevant.
