I'm recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering business specialising in industrial refrigeration and cooling solutions, who are looking to appoint an internal Technical Sales Engineer / Estimator to join their growing team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical engineering background who enjoys problem-solving, estimating and working closely with customers and suppliers to develop engineering solutions. The role offers a clear pathway into technical sales and applications engineering while remaining hands-on with engineering projects.

Working alongside experienced Sales Engineers, you'll support the preparation of quotations, technical proposals and cost estimates for a wide range of refrigeration and cooling projects across the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, industrial and process sectors.

The Role

  • Prepare technical quotations, estimates and tender submissions for refrigeration and cooling projects.
  • Review customer specifications and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Produce cost estimates and supporting technical documentation.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
  • Source equipment and obtain supplier quotations.
  • Support Sales Engineers throughout the tender process.
  • Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations and project information.
  • Assist with technical and commercial evaluations to help secure new business.
  • Develop a strong understanding of refrigeration applications, cooling systems and customer requirements.

The Person

We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience within refrigeration, HVAC, chillers, heat pumps or mechanical building services with an emphasis on cooling.

  • Experience preparing quotations or estimates would be advantageous.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
