A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Land & Measured Building Surveyor to join Terrain Surveys, a well-established and highly regarded independent surveying practice with offices in Welwyn Garden City and Rugby. A proud member of The Survey Association and accredited to ISO 9001:2008, the company has built a strong reputation delivering topographical surveys, measured building surveys, utility mapping, monitoring surveys, and 3D laser scanning across commercial, residential, and infrastructure sectors throughout the UK. The Land & Measured Building Surveyor will work alongside experienced surveyors, CAD technicians, and project managers, taking ownership of site-based survey delivery and office-based drawing production across a broad portfolio of projects.
Responsibility & Duties- Carry out topographical and measured building surveys on site
- Operate total stations, GNSS equipment, and 3D laser scanners
- Process and produce 2D and 3D survey deliverables in AutoCAD
- Produce high-quality drawings to agreed client specifications and deadlines
- Manage survey data using LSS, Starnet, and Cyclone software
- Liaise with clients and project managers on survey requirements
- Maintain accurate field notes, records, and quality control checks
- Adhere to health and safety procedures on all site and office activities
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Land & Measured Building Surveyor
- Proficient with total stations, GNSS, and 3D laser scanning equipment
- Experienced in both topographical and measured building survey methods
- Skilled in AutoCAD, BricsCAD, LSS, Starnet, and Cyclone software
- CICES membership or a relevant surveying qualification is advantageous
- Full UK driving licence required for site-based project attendance
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently
- Effective communication skills and a professional client-facing manner
- Full UK Driving Licence & vehicle
