A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and highly regarded surveying company known for delivering accurate and reliable surveying solutions across a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects. The company prides itself on maintaining high technical standards, utilising the latest surveying equipment and digital workflows to produce precise, high-quality survey data and drawings. Operating across multiple sectors throughout the UK, the company continues to grow and is now looking to strengthen its utility mapping team by bringing on an experienced utility surveyor to be based at their offices in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
The Utility Surveyor will take ownership of site-based data capture using EML and GPR equipment, ensuring accurate underground utility detection, site marking, and the production of high-quality deliverables in AutoCAD and other industry-standard formats, operating on a remote basis.
Responsibility & Duties- Carry out PAS128 utility surveys to industry standards on site
- Operate GPR equipment, CAT & Genny, and electromagnetic locators
- Produce accurate utility drawings in AutoCAD from field data
- Conduct CCTV drainage surveys and utility clearance investigations
- Liaise with clients professionally on site and manage expectations
- Complete accurate field notes, logs, and daily survey records
- Adhere to all health, safety, and traffic management requirements
- Proven experience as a Utility Surveyor in a field-based role
- Competent with CAT & Genny, GPR systems, and EM locating tools
- PAS128 knowledge and understanding of utility survey standards
- Proficient in AutoCAD for producing utility mapping outputs
- Experience with CCTV drainage survey equipment advantageous
- Strong communication skills and professional client-facing manner
- Full UK driving licence required for site travel across the UK
