Building Surveyor Permanent Location – Stockport Salary - Depending on Experience + Phone Allowance + Benefits A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Surveyor to join a well-established, multidisciplinary building consultancy known for delivering high-quality Building Surveying, Project Management, and wider professional services. The team works across a broad range of commercial, education, healthcare, and public sector projects, building a strong reputation across the North West for practical, client-focused delivery. With continued demand for their services, they are now looking to strengthen their Manchester office with an experienced Building Surveyor. The successful Building Surveyor will work closely with the wider surveying and professional services team, managing projects independently from initial survey through to completion. The role covers both professional services and project delivery work, with a strong focus on education and healthcare sector projects across the Greater Manchester area. You will be working primarily across healthcare and educational sectors. The role will be office-based with travel around the Manchester area. Responsibility & Duties * Conduct building surveys, condition surveys, and defect diagnosis. * Work independently as a Building Surveyor across varied project types. * Prepare specifications, tender documentation, and contract administration. * Liaise directly with clients across education and healthcare sectors. * Carry out site inspections and produce clear technical reports. * Ensure compliance with building regulations and industry standards. * Coordinate projects spanning professional services and project delivery work. * Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants. Experience & Qualification * 5-10+ years' experience within a Building Surveying consultancy role. * MRICS/Chartered status desirable but not essential for application. * Strong background as a Building Surveyor across Professional Services and Delivery. * Proven experience managing multiple projects with minimal supervision. * Sector experience within education, healthcare, or wider public sector. * Skilled in specifications, tender documentation, and contract administration. * Excellent client-facing communication and report writing skills. * Able to work independently and hit the ground running.
