A market leader in their sector, our client is an established and highly successful Fresh Produce supplier marketing their fruit who supply product to the UK Retail arena. We currently offer an opportunity as Supply Chain Manager. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for leading and optimising the end‑to‑end supply chain to deliver best‑in‑class service, cost efficiency, and operational excellence within a fast‑paced FMCG environment. The role oversees planning, logistics, inventory management, and supplier performance, ensuring product availability, minimising waste, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply & Demand Planning Leadership – Lead the demand planning process in collaboration with Commercial and Finance teams. Maintain robust forecasts based on customer data, market trends, promotions, and historical performance. Ensure supply plans meet customer requirements while balancing cost, capacity, and waste. Identify risks to service and develop mitigation plans for shortages, oversupply, or disruptions.
  • Stock Management – Track inbound deliveries, production outputs, and stock cover by SKU/customer. Investigate stock discrepancies, liaising with packhouse and QA teams and support stock counts, stock reconciliations, and waste reporting.
  • Logistics Coordination – Ensure that all the logistics involved with delivering fruit to our customers are carried out. This includes booking daily haulage movements with several hauliers and reporting pallet movements to our marketing cooperative. Reporting any problems to the Operations Director immediately.

Requirements

  • A strong awareness of fresh produce in either a supply chain, procurement or logistics focus.
  • A practical and decisive individual who understands how an effective and efficiently run fresh produce packhouse can contribute to stronger overall business profitability.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to positively communicate across all levels.
  • A strong communicator both within and outside the packhouse team.
  • Able to develop productive working relationships with colleagues in other parts of the business.
