A fantastic opportunity has become available with a successful Fresh Produce specialist, in a key role as Procurement Manager / Buyer. This position offers the opportunity to join a successful and driven team. Working as part of an energetic and personable team, the position of Procurement Manager / Buyer will work alongside a counterpart and will become a fundamental member of the buying and commercial team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Procurement of Fresh Produce, across a variety of Fresh produce categories
  • Planning & management of stock, to ensure volumes are met
  • Liaising with all parties to ensure product quality is achieved
  • Managing successful & positive Supplier relationships
  • Negotiating prices, meeting financial KPI’s
  • Liaising with key retail customers

Requirements:

  • Experience gained in a Buying / Procurement / Commercial role within Fresh Produce
  • Professional and confident, with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • An understanding of the Fresh Produce Supply Chain
  • Numerically minded and confident working with data
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft systems

This role requires a passionate, organised and pro-active individual, confident in a fast-paced & demanding environment, with the ability to meet deadlines and tight timescales.

Hours: Monday – Friday

Salary: Negotiable
