The Opportunity

Are you a commercially driven professional looking to make your mark with a market leader in their field? Our client is an established Fresh Produce importer, known for their unwavering commitment to quality and their long-standing partnerships. We are looking for a proactive, confident, and detail-driven procurement individual to join the Procurement team. This role will play a key role in supporting procurement operations, stock control, supplier management, and sustainability reporting.

The Role:

  • Plan and procure all accessories, packaging, and warehouse supplies
  • Research, plan, and manage contractors, including overseeing work and signing off completed jobs
  • Create and maintain stock entries for packaging and fresh produce intakes
  • Carry out daily fresh produce stock counts and closing stock
  • Organise invoices and delivery notes for internal processing and approval
  • Monitor and control stock levels across packaging, accessories, and warehouse supplies
  • Supervise forward buying and support procurement activities for the London hub and regional operations during the Procurement Manager’s absence
  • Support accurate data collection related to procurement, sustainability, and compliance

Who You Are

To thrive in this role, you’ll need expertise in packaging and accessory buying and to understand the pace, the seasonality, and the nuances of the fresh food industry.

Experience:

  • Proven packaging procurement experience (UK and overseas)
  • Strong understanding of packaging regulations, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)
  • Experience gathering carbon emissions data to support Scope 3 reporting
  • Energetic, proactive, and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to negotiate pricing, resolve issues, and build strong supplier relationships
  • High attention to detail and commitment to consistently high standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Hours – Monday to Friday 6.30am to 14.30pm
