We're looking for an enthusiastic Play Gym Manager to join our team on a maternity cover contract, starting 29th June.

The Job

As Play Gym Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our busy play and catering facility, leading a large team to deliver safe, fun, and exceptional experiences for every visitor. This is a highly hands-on role, particularly during peak periods and school holidays. You'll be just as comfortable supporting your team on the floor as you are managing rotas, budgets, compliance, and operational performance behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of supervisors and team members
  • Oversee daily operations, including play sessions, parties, and food service
  • Ensure the highest standards of health & safety, food hygiene, and compliance
  • Plan and prepare for busy trading periods, seasonal peaks, and school holidays
  • Manage labour costs, stock control, forecasting, and operational efficiency
  • Handle customer feedback professionally and resolve issues effectively
  • Act as a visible and supportive leader for both customers and colleagues
  • Drive high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation throughout the facility
About You

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Proven management experience in a similar environment, such as leisure, hospitality, attractions, or another customer-focused setting
  • Strong catering knowledge, with a good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of health & safety compliance, risk assessments, and safe working practices
  • The ability to remain calm, organised, and positive in a busy operational environment
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing performance, coaching teams, and driving results
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to work 31.75 hours per week, including alternate weekends
