Responsibilities:
- Management of Processing and Processing Staff
- Quality control
- Hygiene management
- Stock control
To manage staff under your instruction to include:
- Ensure they have the relevant training to perform their tasks in line with company policies, procedures and work instructions;
- Ensure they work efficiently adhering to standards and specifications;
- Conduct periodic probation and performance reviews;
- Manage their holidays using the staff holiday system;
- Manage their attendance and work rota;
- Manage their discipline, conduct investigations and meetings in line with the company disciplinary procedure.
To manage the safety of all staff and facilities throughout the Processing areas:
- Assist with any accident investigation;
- Ensure that all contractors working within the Processing areas have been correctly vetted, briefed and understand all relevant company policies and procedures.
To manage and update the company hygiene policies and procedures:
- Attend Quality Management and lead the HACCP Meetings;
- Involved in writing/agreement of any new work instructions/specifications;
- Management of quality & nutritional testing;
- To maintain the highest hygiene standards throughout the Processing & Packing areas in the Dairy;
- Management of internal system records - ensure collection of specified records/checksheets from the Processing & Packing areas, sign off & store in control room;
- Carry out investigations and assist with completion of all allocated non-conformances.
Liaise with and assist all staff in the efficient running of the business. Liaise with the Production Manager on a daily basis to ensure efficiencies of business are met. Stock control and management of all Processing consumables, Chemicals, PPE, etc. Raw and finished product testing and quality. Liaise with Chemical suppliers. Processing instrument/equipment calibration/service. Quotes for equipment, consumables & sample testing. Authorise and liaise with maintenance regarding scheduled and unscheduled work in the Processing areas. Improve and develop systems and procedures in Processing.
You must ensure you have the relevant training to undertake all your duties or tasks; if not, inform your Manager.
