A specialist residential children's home in Hove is seeking a compassionate, organised, and proactive housekeeper to join its team on a part-time basis.
This is far more than a traditional housekeeping role.
Working within a therapeutic residential environment, you will play an important part in creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing home for children and young people.
Your contribution will help maintain a warm, structured, and homely environment that supports the wellbeing and development of the children living there.
Our client is flexible regarding how the 25 contracted hours are worked.
Whilst the role will generally be worked Monday to Friday, different working patterns can be considered to suit the successful candidate, provided the total hours amount to 25 per week.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, organisation, and presentation throughout the home.
You'll work closely with the wider care team and become a valued member of a therapeutic community that places children's emotional wellbeing at the heart of everything it does.
Key responsibilities will include
- Cleaning and maintaining communal areas, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces.
- Laundry duties, vacuuming, dusting, sanitising, and general housekeeping tasks.
- Monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies and household stock.
- Ensuring appliances and equipment are maintained to a safe and hygienic standard.
- Supporting the creation of a warm, safe, and welcoming home environment.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to promote a positive atmosphere within the home.
