We are currently recruiting for Residential Child Care Workers and Team Leaders to join two established group living children's homes based in Taunton and Wellington, Somerset. The homes support children and young people aged 5-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), providing a safe, structured and nurturing environment where young people can thrive. One home supports younger children, while the other supports older young people. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people.

Our client is happy to consider candidates with transferable skills and the right attitude, even if they do not already hold a residential childcare qualification.

Salary

  • Residential Child Care Worker (Non-Qualified): Up to £33,200 per annum including sleep-ins
  • Residential Child Care Worker (Qualified): Up to £34,320 per annum including sleep-ins
  • Team Leader: Up to £35,980 per annum including sleep-ins

Sleep-ins are a mandatory part of the role and staff typically complete 6-8 sleep-ins per month.

Shift Pattern

This role involves working long shifts, sleep-ins and some weekends as part of a structured rolling rota. Due to the longer shift pattern, the rota is more condensed, meaning staff benefit from fewer working days and more days off throughout the week compared to traditional shift patterns. Staff also benefit from one long weekend off every three weeks, finishing Friday morning and not returning until Tuesday, providing an excellent work-life balance. This position is well suited to candidates who prefer working longer shifts in exchange for increased time off.
