Hours: 37 hours per week (plus 8-10 sleep-ins per month)

We are recruiting Residential Support Workers and Senior Residential Support Workers on behalf of a respected care provider in the Wigan area. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering career progression, a supportive team environment, and the chance to truly change lives.

The Role

You will be providing high-quality care and emotional support to children and young people living in residential settings. Duties include:

  • Supporting with daily routines, education, and activities
  • Promoting independence and emotional wellbeing
  • Working proactively to maintain a safe, nurturing environment
  • Collaborating with colleagues and professionals in line with care plans

You’ll be working on a fair rota basis, with no back-to-back shifts. A typical working pattern includes:

  • 10:00am - 11:00pm shift
  • Followed by a sleep-in (11:00pm - 7:30am)
  • Then handover (7:30am - 10:00am)

Candidate Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence - essential
  • Right to Work in the UK full time - sponsorship switch is not available
  • Transferable skills welcome - we are open to candidates with experience in youth work, education, SEN support, or similar roles
  • For Senior Support Worker roles: Must hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in children’s residential care settings
