Residential Support Workers
to join their children's homes in
Rushden and Walgrave, Northamptonshire . This is an excellent opportunity for experienced children's residential workers, but our client is also
open-minded about candidates from other backgrounds who have strong transferable skills and, most importantly, the right motivation to support children and young people. The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide consistent, nurturing and supportive care to children and young people living in a residential setting. You will support young people with their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, personal development and independence, while helping to maintain a safe, stable and positive home environment. The role involves long shifts, sleep-ins and weekends, with a
three-week rolling rota
providing a consistent working pattern. Approximately 40 hours per week
Approximately 10 shifts per month
Week 1 – 3 working days
Week 2 – 3 working days
Week 3 – 1 working day
Typical shifts: 10:00am – 10:30pm, followed by a sleep-in
Β£42 per sleep-in
Enhanced overtime rates available
Salary & Benefits
Β£12.75 per hour
Β£26,520 basic annual salary

About You
Previous experience working in a children's home is beneficial but
not essential . Our client will consider candidates with transferable experience from areas such as: Education or SEN
Youth work
Social care
Supported living
Healthcare
Mental health support
Family support
Community support
Care work
Experience supporting individuals with
challenging or complex behaviours
would be advantageous. However, what matters most is that you have the
right attitude, values and motivation
for working with vulnerable children and young people. You should be comfortable working long shifts and sleep-ins and have the ability to build positive relationships, maintain professional boundaries, manage challenging situations calmly and support young people with patience, empathy and consistency. Team Teach and PACE training
and will be enrolled onto a
Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Care . This makes the role particularly suitable for someone with relevant transferable experience who is looking to move into children's residential care and develop a long-term career in the sector.
