Our trusted client, a growing provider of therapeutic residential childcare services, is recruiting Residential Childcare Workers and Team Leaders for full-time, permanent positions. The Roles
- Residential Childcare Worker: You will provide day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people aged 5-17 within a residential setting, working as part of a dedicated team to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
- Team Leader: In addition to direct care responsibilities, you will provide shift leadership, support staff supervision, and contribute to service standards and outcomes within the home.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering consistent care and emotional support
- Promoting education, independence, and personal development
- Building professional, trusting relationships with young people
- Contributing to care planning and safeguarding practice
- Supporting positive behavioural outcomes
- Leading or supporting shifts and guiding junior staff (Team Leader)
- Working a shift pattern including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
Requirements
- Residential Support Worker: Experience in children's residential care or similar - preferred; Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards
- Team Leader: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (minimum); Previous supervisory or shift-leading experience in residential childcare; Strong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory standards
- For all applicants: Resilient, reliable, and child-centred approach; Strong communication and teamwork skills; Full UK driving licence preferred
Salary and Benefits
- Residential Support Worker: £29,620 - £35,320 per year (inclusive of 10 sleeps per month)
- Team Leader: Up to £38,320 per year (inclusive of 10 sleeps per month)
- Funded Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (where applicable)
