Salary: £50,000 £60,000 per annum

Our client is looking for an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a childrens residential home in Newhaven, East Sussex.
\n
This is a key leadership position with responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the home, ensuring that young people receive safe, nurturing and therapeutic care while maintaining high standards of safeguarding, compliance and practice.
\n
You will work closely with the Responsible Individual and Deputy Manager, while also working collaboratively with the Quality & Compliance Manager, who provides monitoring, quality assurance and professional challenge. You will retain full responsibility for the operational leadership and management of the home.
The Role\n
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a positive, child-centred culture where safeguarding, wellbeing and outcomes for young people are at the heart of everything you do.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing the day-to-day operation of the childrens home.
- Providing strong leadership, supervision and development to the staff team.
- Ensuring appropriate staffing levels and safe staffing practices.
- Promoting a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment.
- Maintaining effective safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, allegations and serious incidents.
- Making external referrals and ensuring regulatory notifications are completed accurately and within required timescales.
- Ensuring compliance with the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and the homes Statement of Purpose.
- Maintaining accurate records, documentation and defensible decision-making.
- Preparing for and participating in Ofsted inspections.
- Responding positively to audits, monitoring visits and quality assurance feedback.
- Developing and implementing improvement plans where required.
- Ensuring individualised care plans are implemented and regularly reviewed.
- Championing childrens rights, participation and individual outcomes.
- Monitoring educational, health and emotional wellbeing outcomes.
- Providing supervision, appraisal and performance management to staff.
- Identifying training needs and supporting ongoing professional development.
- Promoting reflective practice, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Participating in the on-call rota and acting as a key part of the escalation pathway.

\nAbout You\n
We are looking for a confident and resilient leader with significant experience within childrens residential care and a strong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
\n
You will need:
\n
- \n
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or be working towards this.
- Significant experience working within childrens residential care.
- Strong knowledge of the Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements.
- Proven experience in safeguarding and staff leadership.
- Experience managing and developing teams.
- The ability to drive service improvement and maintain high standards of care.
- Strong communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding children and promoting positive outcomes.
- The resilience and professionalism required to manage complex situations and make clear, accountable decisions.

\nDesirable Experience\n
The following would be advantageous:

- Experience managing an SEMH provision.
- Experience leading a childrens home through an Ofsted inspection.
- Experience supporting service development, improvement or turnaround.
