Senior Management Accountant

Established in 1997 as the first manufacturer of sushi for the UK supermarket industry, Taiko has evolved into the most innovative manufacturer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals and Snacking products in the UK, supplying Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsburys to name a few. Over the past 25 years Taiko has launched more first to market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join our finance team within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.Applicants must have experience working in a high-turnover business (100 million+)

Youll be responsible for managing the financial reporting and performance analysis across three legal entities two in the UK and one in the Republic of Ireland. With a direct report (Management Accountant), you will provide insightful financial data, ensure robust controls, and support strategic decision-making across the business. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a hands-on approach to financial management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts for all three entities.
  • Support the budgeting, reforecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting and variance analysis with commentary.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) across sites.
  • Oversee the management of costings, inventory valuation, and production variances.
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of any discrepancies.
  • Review and submit VAT returns for all legal entities, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Work closely with operational teams to support business performance.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Support the year-end audit and liaise with external auditors.
  • Supervise and develop the Management Accountant, promoting their continued professional growth.
