Established in 1997 as the first manufacturer of sushi for the UK supermarket industry, Taiko has evolved into the most innovative manufacturer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals and Snacking products in the UK, supplying Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury’s to name a few. Over the past 25 years Taiko has launched more first to market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.

As a Maintenance Planner at Taiko Foods, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the maintenance schedules for all production equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Your role will involve coordinating with the maintenance team to plan preventive maintenance activities, track maintenance tasks, and manage inventory of spare parts. You will also analyse equipment performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements. Your organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with various departments will be essential in maintaining the high operational standards at Taiko Foods.

Maintenance Planning:

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to minimise downtime and ensure equipment reliability.

• Create detailed maintenance schedules for all equipment and machinery.

• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize disruptions.

Scheduling and Coordination:

• Schedule maintenance tasks, ensuring availability of required materials, tools, and personnel.

• Coordinate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and other departments to ensure efficient execution of maintenance activities.

• Arrange for external contractors or service providers when necessary.

Inventory and Spare Parts Management:

• Maintain accurate records of spare parts inventory.

• Ensure that all necessary spare parts and materials are available for scheduled maintenance tasks.

• Order and manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and materials.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment history.

• Prepare and submit regular reports on maintenance performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Document and update maintenance procedures and instructions.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and procedures.

• Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.

• Conduct safety inspections and audits of maintenance activities and equipment.

• Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance planning or a related role in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong organisational and time management skills.

• Proficiency in maintenance management software and MS Office Suite.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to maintenance activities.
