Housing Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our Community Housing Team.

We are recruiting 1 x Fixed-Term position for up to 10 months, available with a competitive pay and benefits package including a starting salary of £33,879 a year, rising to £37,548 per year after key competencies of the role are met within 6 x months.

To be successful in the role, you’ll need to be resilient, organised and an effective communicator with a working knowledge of dealing with Housing Management and Anti -Social Behaviour. If this sounds like you, please read on.

Within your role as our Housing Officer you will:

  • Managing complex and diverse cases, following policies and procedures, to ensure service demands are met timely, effectively, and efficiently. Manage a case load of Occupation Contracts and all Housing Management related matters. Use sound judgment in your decision making, which is backed by clear rationale, evidence, relevant legislation, including an awareness of social and economic issues.
  • Contribute to creating, delivery and implementation of the Service’s communication plan to all stakeholders to increase knowledge through raised awareness of the service provision.
  • Keep up to date with legislation and best practice relevant to your post and profession
  • To be considered for our Housing Officer you will need to be able to demonstrate you have:

  • The ability to be an effective communicator, adjusting your style for a variety of situations.
  • A working knowledge of Anti-Social Behaviour and its impact on contract holders and landlords.
  • Resilience and professionalism in difficult situations.
  • Solution focused
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Work with partners to help sustain the contract.
  • A good understanding of current legislation
  • Experience of case management.
  • A good understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable people.
  • High level of ICT literacy.
  • Are educated to a minimum education standard at level 4, or equivalent experience.
  • Reporting to the Housing Team Leader, this role will manage a high and demanding caseload, ensuring you work effectively to meet the needs of the service.
