Are you an experienced, F-Gas certified Commercial Refrigeration Engineer looking to join one of the UK’s leading providers of commercial kitchen installation and maintenance services to the premium hospitality sector? We work with some of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants in the country, including every major 5-star property on Park Lane. We deliver everything from one-off installations to full turnkey projects and complete asset management including maintenance and repairs.

Role Overview

Due to continued expansion, we are looking for a Commercial Refrigeration Engineer with F-Gas certification and a minimum of 6 years’ commercial experience to join our established team of field service engineers. You will be repairing, servicing and maintaining a range of technically varied refrigeration systems, from localised self-contained units through to remote condenser and pack systems (depending on experience), in some of London and the Home Counties most prestigious hospitality environments. Brands could include Williams, Foster, True, Adande, Hoshizaki, Precision and more.

Location and Coverage

We cover Central London, Greater London and the Home Counties. You should be within easy commuting distance of London and ideally our offices in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in fault-finding, repairing and maintaining commercial refrigeration equipment — essential
  • F-Gas certification — essential
  • Experience with a range of refrigerants typical to the hospitality sector, e.g. R290, R134a, R32, R404a, R600a plus others
  • Experience with CO2 / transcritical systems advantageous but not essential
  • Experience across a range of system types including:
    • Localised / self-contained systems (fridges, cold rooms, ice machines, blast chillers)
    • Remote condenser and pack / centralised systems advantageous but not essential
  • Experience in the hospitality or commercial kitchen sector strongly preferred
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding ability across a range of manufacturers and equipment types
  • Confident communicating directly with clients including facilities managers, client-side engineers and kitchen teams
  • Competent in using Field Service Management software on a mobile device or tablet
  • Excellent time management and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Key Responsibilities

  • Attending breakdown callouts and carrying out repairs across all types of commercial refrigeration equipment found in the hospitality sector
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing of refrigeration equipment on a scheduled basis
  • Working collaboratively as part of an established field engineering team, and independently on day-to-day callouts
  • Dealing directly with clients on-site, including facilities managers, client-side engineers and kitchen staff
  • Operating across Central London, Greater London and the Home Counties

Shift Pattern

Shift pattern runs 6am–2pm, with the choice of joining our early or late shift team.

On-Call

1-in-5 weekend on-call rota with a standby payment. Any calls attended are paid at the following rates: Saturday: 1.5x, Sunday and Bank Holidays: 2x.

Salary and Progression

£50,500–£56,800 inclusive of door-to-door travel pay (£40,000 – £45,000 DOE basic salary). Annual pay reviews. Overtime available above base salary with no cap on additional earnings. Weekend on-call standby payment plus enhanced rates as above. Genuine pathway to Team Leader or Senior Engineer for the right candidate. Continuous manufacturer training and technical development.
