The Company:
An established and exciting fashion brand which has seen explosive growth are currently recruiting for an established Assistant Buyer or Junior Buyer. They have quickly grown and have a well-recognised presence on social media platforms. This is a pivotal role to the business & an exciting opportunity to join a business on its path to success. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role for a fashion ecommerce business.
The Role:
- Contributes to product development with an awareness of department best and worst and seasonal trends
- Contributes to product development to assist the JB/Buyer/HOB with range building
- Has a basic understanding of category frameworks in relation to product development
- Supports Buyer/HOB with cost price negotiations to achieve best prices and meet department BIM
- Attends design meetings with JB/HOB
- Takes ownership for chasing in development samples
- Achieves cost price reductions on first time rebuys
- Contributes & presents in weekly trade meetings with suggestions on how to react to department trading
- Generates ideas to support department strategy through product, studio and VM
- Carries out a daily review of department galleries to ensure product is being shot correctly
- Has an awareness of department KPI’s and department strategy, along with a general understanding of business sales and weekly priorities
- Thinks outside the box when dealing with problems, going to Buyer with solutions
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of fitting and technical terminology
- Leads all fit sessions, along with QC
- Takes ownership for ensuring fit comments sent
- Works closely with Buyer and garment techs to react to high returning lines
- Approves all fit & production samples
- Manages and oversees samples being sent to studio and organises shoot rail
- Takes responsibility for general office upkeep
- Takes ownership of OPO and the critical path to make sure all intake lands on time
- Attends supplier meetings
- Calls suppliers to discuss samples/costs and confident to negotiate
- Understands supplier delivery terms FOB/Landed
Skills Required:
- MUST have 3 years Multiproduct Buying experience – ideally for a Fashion Ecommerce Brand.
- A relevant degree in Fashion or similar.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel.
- Strong strategic and range planning skills.
- Sourcing experience is essential.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Previous experience managing your own range, OTB and budgets.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office (particularly Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel).
- Excellent communication skills.
